Nikki's Weekly Tarot Reading: August 10-16, 2026

The Hanged Man and Art

This week, the New Moon on August 12 will help us begin a new cycle, providing fresh energy to support us. The cards want us to liberate ourselves and create something new, utilizing our imagination and our community.

The Hanged Man is our first card, usually indicating an encounter with something undesirable and constraining. However, it also offers guidance on navigating difficult situations with wisdom.

The Hanged Man indicates roadblocks. We may be facing the same challenges repeatedly and are struggling to make necessary changes. We have reached a dead end and must reassess our actions.

What comes to mind when you hear this? Take time to think about the roadblocks in your life and your world. Whatever comes to mind first is usually what we need to focus on the most.

Ask yourself these questions: Can we salvage things or take a new path? Can we adjust, or must we let go and move on completely?

When we need to let go of something, we can feel like we have failed. We experience emotional pain or even deep resistance. Our resistance can cause us to feel stuck or suspended.

The Hanged Man also indicates our need to hold on to specific outcomes. It calls us to practice the art of non-attachment. If we are feeling an intense desire for something to go a particular way, this card asks us to examine why.

If we have been putting off the next step or holding on to a cycle that needs to end, it will come to the surface to be released. We can then start a new path that will lead to our growth.

The second card we are working with is Art. This card is about the process of combining and harmonizing forces in our lives. It is about taking smaller pieces and creating something larger through collaboration and creativity.

The Art card features a beautiful figure blending fire and water to create a new and more powerful substance. She is practicing the ancient art of alchemy and is calling us to do the same.

Take a moment to reflect on your life and consider the following questions: How can I amplify my voice by collaborating with another person or organization? What can I cultivate or enhance through a partnership? How can I merge my different passions into something greater and more impactful?

During a memorable session with a client, she received this card. I shared with her that it symbolized the potential for a dynamic and inspiring creative partnership. I emphasized that such a collaboration could pave the way for remarkable success, igniting her aspirations and unleashing new possibilities.

She didn’t share many details about her life during the reading, but a few weeks later, she messaged me to say she had quit her job to pursue a more creative passion. In her new career, she collaborates with various artists and entrepreneurs and has truly found her calling.

The Art card had given her the confidence and push needed to take that risk. It’s a card that inspires our own creativity and personal growth.
